MW Networks, which became the first company in Korea to target overseas markets with MICE (conventions, exhibitions, etc.) tech services last year, is speeding up its business expansion after the COVID-19 pandemic.
MW Networks signed a business agreement with Vietnamese IT company NTQ in November last year and succeeded in entering the Southeast Asian MICE market.
For the first time in the industry, the two companies are jointly developing a program that collects data from event participants such as international conferences and utilizes them for planning and operating events.
They received various types of support, including IR consulting to strengthen investment capabilities, prototype and service testing and data evaluation, market verification testing, showcase invitations from overseas organizations, and discovery of overseas local partners.
MW Networks is a company in its 10th year of establishment and has continued to innovate and grow even during COVID-19.
This is because it achieved sales of 7 billion won in 2021 and 2022, when COVID-19 was at its peak, and also succeeded in expanding overseas.
The services that MW Networks boasts include smart badges, hologram telepresence, a 3D online event platform, and metaverse.
The smart badge, which holds two patents, can collect behavioral data by analyzing participants' stay time and density in each space.
For the first time in Korea, hologram live presentation technology was introduced, spread, and established in the domestic market.
The event was held live, without delay, anywhere in the world, as if real people were there, and received a great response from the industry.
In addition, domestic landmark spaces such as Gyeongbuk Palace and DMZ have been developed as metaverse maps and are being used for various purposes.
MW Networks' goal is to strengthen IT capabilities in the MICE industry, including international conferences.
CEO Seong Min-wook said, “If we have been running for the past 10 years with the vision of ‘maximizing the value of the moment,’ for the next 10 years we will become a company preparing for MICE 100 years from now.’”
“To this end, we plan to focus all our efforts on talent development, research and development, and strengthening internal systems,” he said.
